Ok for some reason my Laptop running Win95 can't see my PC's running Win98SE on my LAN.
but my PC's can see and access the Laptop with no problems.

and also the Laptop can browse the internet through my LAN with no problem.
just can't see other PC's on network.

i have an SMC Barricade Router using DHCP on each system.

4 PC's - and 1 Laptop.
all can browse interney and see each other, exept my laptop can't see no other PC's on my LAN.

not too familiar with laptops (first time setting one up on network) so that may be the prob.but everything seems fine.

Laptop specs:

200Mhz system
Running Win95
D-Link 10/100 pcmcia
File Print sharing installed
different name from other PC's
same workgroup name
and same computer description as the rest

Network settings: (all PC's are same)
Client for MS Networks
NIC
TCP/IP (auto assign IP's)
File and Print Sharing (all has folders shared)

could this have something to do with the "browse master" setting some how?
or maybe even the cable?

and help on this would be appreciated.

Find out the IP address of a working computer (open a command propmt and type IPCONFIG)
Open an explorer window on the laptop and enter \\<IP of working PC>\ (EG \\172.16.0.1\ )
This will direct the laptop straight to the working computer. If this allows you to access the computer and see any shares, there's likely to be a small configuration error somewhere stopping the computers from appearing in Network Neighborhood...

You might want to consider adding the NetBeui protocol to your computers. It's designed for small LANs and is largely self configuring. Go into network properties, click Add->Protocol->Microsoft NetBeui on all the computers. That's probably the easiest method of making the computers talk to each other...

Woodchuck2000, i added the NetBeui but still no go.
when i go to "find computer" by right clicking network neighborhood, the PC i'm looking for will show up,but i guess this error when i double click on it:

\\Server not accessible.

Not logged on.

could there be something installed on this Laptop thats stopping me from viewing the network?
i bought it from someone with Win95 pre installed.
just got it and only thing i added was the NIC.

Thanks for any more help.
