win95 hangs at startup...???

I'm running an old P5-166 with 32M ram at work, and yesterday it spontaneously decided to hang at the win95 start screen. It will boot in safe mode, but there doesn't appear to be anything that's changed to cause the hang. No new apps or hardware installed, just decided yesterday morning to run the startup screen forever.

Any ideas or help in fixing this?
