Win8 to Win8.1 not working

So, I have several computers (2 laptops + 1 desktop) that I purchased win8 licenses for when they were offering that cheap upgrade. The laptops have been upgraded to 8.1 thru the Store without any kinds of problems but my desktop refuses.

The problem is that it won't install certain updates from Windows Update, in particular:
KB2919442, KB2802618, KB2822241, KB2811522 and i think one more.

I have googled and tried to dl them separately but the system refuses to load these in, saying that they wont work.

I am now so sick of this, what remedies are there? Can one re-apply win8 on top of the existing system? I'd hate to d/l all the stuff again (programs and steam/origin mostly) but my OCD refuses to just let win8 do it's thing (system working just fine otherwise).

Can anyone advice me as to how to progress, I have no solutions left.
Thank you.

Windows 8.1 Update 1 is divided to several MSU files that must be installed in the following order: KB2919442, KB2939087, KB2919355, KB2932046, KB2938439, KB2937592.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I did D/L them all and tried to apply them in that order. Started with the KB2919442 but it wont install it, saying that it is not functioning with the updater program.

Thank you, tried but it demands some files from MEDIA - I d/l the upgrade so Im not sure what to do. Tried to put my Win7 dvd in but it wouldn't accept that. The files requested are installation files. At a loss again...

You can refresh win 8, and that should set it back to "factory defaults".

Or, you can get the win 8.1 ISO and start with that, but, then you will lose all your old installed stuff / settings.
