Win8.1 Preview

I downloaded the Windows 8.1 preview and burned the ISO to a disk. It seemed to work fine except it asked for drivers on Installation. Haven't had that asked since WinXP. Anybody know what drivers there looking for. I do have an SSD. Could that be it?

Frankly I can't fathom what drivers Windows 8.1 would need. It should have class drivers or other built in drivers for virtually everything. You'd have to give us some more details to work out what it's after; and I doubt it's your SSD since SSDs don't require drivers.

You aren't using a RAID are you? And technically SSDs do use drivers; or rather your mobo uses AHCI drivers. Though at least when I last tried using them, AMD's AHCI drivers caused me a lot of problems and the recommended course of action was to just let Windows install it's own. Intel's are solid as far as I recall.

It seems strange that it would ask for it now, though I suppose if you're booting to the disc (I'm guessing here) and the OS itself isn't loading it may not have access to the already installed drivers?
