Win8.1 Hybrid Sleep vs Intel Rapid Start Technology

Hey all,

I think this is the right forum to post this in.. Sorry if it ain't!

I'm running Win8.1, and I have Intel Rapid Start Technology working. It makes the ol' rig boot up in record time.
I noticed Win8.1 has a thing called 'Hybrid Sleep', which sounds like it does a similar job, maybe in a slightly different way.

Do any of you have further experience in these two technologies, and know which happens to be more efficient?

Thanks!

Hybrid sleep allows the computer to enter a deeper sleep state that can still recover quickly (the exact level would depend on what the hardware can support).

Rapid Start mentioned below.

No problem. Their naming policies do allow for easily mixing them up!

So, which would be better to use? The rapid start user guide says to use sleep, not hibernate, which is odd.

I suppose sleep because you are not completely removing and re-applying power to the entire system, which would be less stressful on hardware.
