i just upgraded from lr3 to lr4 (legit, licensed paid version) and have a weird problem. for some reason the autoload in windows does not show that i have lr4, which otherwise runs perfectly. i went into regedit and i am stumped as it looks to be pointed at 4.2...

i opened up shell--open--command in registry edit and it shows the proper path i think to lr4.2.....

name=default (is this the problem?)

type=reg_sz

data=c:/programfiles\adobe\adobe photoshop lightroom 4.2\lightroom.exe"%1"

any suggestions? thanks in advance....

now i'm really stumped....

I'm not sure I understand the problem. You set it to load Lightroom on startup, but it's not? Or is it loading the wrong version?

Anyhow, that data string may be faulty. There should be a space in "Program files" among other things.

Sorry if my detail was bad. THe application runs fine but autoload does not show the application at all. I went into regedit and it looks ok to me from the above although I will copy the precise string and type it here. I just do not understand why autlload does not recognize lr4 as an option af forter it worked perfectly for lr3.

You need a quote symbol (") before C, and the 'slash' after C: is facing the wrong direction, as Virge said you need a space between Program and Files, and you need a space before %1, and no quote after the %1.

here is precise string under data column:

"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2\Lightroom.exe" "%1"

for some reason this displays as an emoticon...it is C:backslash...

i am having some other os probs as well...the pc will no longer remain logged into any websites even when i have saved username/pw combos and checked 'remain logged in'. i am also getting a random browser error where all toolbars and bookmarks are gone, and get an error message from firefox. i'm not getting that at the moment but have gotten this message on occasion.

the l4 problem may be part of a bigger issue i'm having. win7 has been perfect until now.
