I did not take "power options" seriously, cause I thought it was something for laptop shenenigans, but if you are unaware of this, your cpu might be 5-10% slower than should be. Normally win7/vista is installed with "balanced" power option.
I set this to "high performance" and my cpu passmark score went from ~2100 to 2350 (g620) and super pi from 15.3 to 15.1
