Not sure whats going on here after some hardware upgrades.

I had my system reboot (Win7) on me earlier tonight while gaming (World of Warcraf). I'm not sure how hot the CPU was when the system just cut out and rebooted. The max temp recorded while back in the game a few minutes laterwas 87C. Idle the q8400 is at 38-44C.

Two changes I've made since Sunday are a new PSU- Corsair 750w (old one was a Corsair 520w) and a Asus 560 Ti card.

My old video was a fanless 7950gt that got hot while gaming (75-85C usually) but avg cpu temps under load were 50C-60C (in WoW). The new Asus card doesn't seem to go beyond 40-42C while gaming but the CPU seems hotter, at least the primary core.

Where can I check the logs in win7 for what might have caused the sudden shutdown/reboot?

TIA

Your CPU is having to work harder now as you have a much more capable GPU to feed. This is reflected in the rise in temps on your CPU. Better cooling needed to keep those core temps down to ~75c max.

Well, just had the computer shutdown again and attempt to reboot. It made it through part of a restart then shutdown again, and rebooted again, this time all the way into windows. Standard windows "computer didn't shut down properly" screen loaded but usb keyboard wouldn't work (till win7 loaded) so I couldnt go into safe mode. Not too sure whats going on here now.

It could be the new PSU or the video card. I reinstalled the video drivers. Temps were sub 40C, only thing running was a web browser at the time of the shutdowns.
