Win7, SSD's, and Allocation size

I am hoping someone knows if and how much allocation size affects performance with the latest SSD's? And, does Windows 7 change any part of that performance equation? Obviously I'm talking about performance as a Windows boot and gaming hard drive (as opposed to large file storage).

P.S: why the hell is my icon a black guy with sunglasses, if that is the default that's weird.

The typical allocation size of 4KB is fine. As I understand it the typical erase block is 4KB so that should line up just perfectly.

Don't diss Mobius.

typical WRITE block is 4KB, typical ERASE block is 512KB for SSDs. which is why we need TRIM.
That being said. 4KB is ideal for an SSD.

Thanks both, especially taltamir. I had read about the write and erase blocks being different sizes and had also heard about TRIM in Win7. Something about that made me think that 4KB might not still be the ideal but you've put that question to bed.
