Since SSD prices are going down (60gig for $48 aka $0.80/gig), i might get one for a new budget gaming rig. (ie: Diablo III)

I'm debating between a 60gig and 120gig SSD.

-Put only Win7 on the SSD and everything else on D drive which for me is a 750gig i have laying around.
-or all programs on the SSD?

I was thinking of saving $ and getting a 60gig SSD just for Win7 and all it's updates.

But having all the program on SSD also makes sense since if the SSD crashes, u gota reload the programs on D drive anyway, right?
and its easier since all programs default to c: to install.

Which would you choose for a budget rig?

Been there, done that. I'll be upgrading my 60GB SSD soon for a 128GB or, money no object, a 256GB SSD. Far easier to back up and maintain files. My media files will still remain on a storage HDD, but everything else will be on the SSD.

Since you're talking about Windows, you should go with as large as you can afford as Windows will chew through that space in virtually no time.

Given the current prices I installed 60GB or 128GB on all my computers and added 500GB or1TB Data HD to each computer. It works very well.

The 128GB I use on computers that have additional Install of Virtual computers (VHD files need space). Puting the VHD Files on the SSD really improve the virtual computers performance.

I put this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817986002 in an empty floppy bay with the SSD in the portable caddy.

Makes the use of the system very flexible and reliable.

I put everything on my 120GB SSD except for large video files and my large years old download directory. Even with all my Program files and Documents, I still have 23GB left. My Outlook PST file is huge all by itself. I refuse to baby this drive. If it fits, I put it on there. I backup my main OS drive at least once per week.
