win7- ram upgrade performance returns

I have a win7 box with 8Mb of ram, anybody point me to some benchmarks or reviews what changing to 16Mb will gain me?

new system, 2600k, 80G SDD, mostly used for gaming. I do tend to get 5-8 browser windows going and run torents in backgorund alot. Im just wondering with ram prices lso low, if going from 8 to 16 will net me some noticable returns or if its just a waste of $100. I do rip some dvd/bluerays and encode some MP3's but this basicly a game box/ do all.

Just try the heaviest workflow you can imagine to use and look at the amount of free+standby RAM. If that's rather low and some paging happens you'll profit from more RAM, otherwise no not really.

Depends strongly on your uses so that's really the best solution here.. though if you ask me, no you probably won't with what you're describing.

I just did a little googling and foud a newer updated story On TOMS.. it seems for my case its probebly not really worth it other then E-pen bragging.
