win7 locked to cpu?

jus wondering if win7 is locked to the cpu? or can i drop in and another cpu and be on my marry way?

In other news, PS4 games will be "locked" to a particular console once purchased, and will not be able to be loaned, or re-sold.

MS operating systems are connected to the MB primarily. Supposedly, ANY major component change will cause a hiccup but, I've traded MB, CPU's and, HDD without a problem.

Its "locked" to the Mother as one shot, i.e., you change Mobo, you have to activated again.

Otherwise, only changing Multiple other hardware devices will do the same.

Replacing a CPU is fine, but if you're using an OEM license then that is tied to the motherboard on which it was activated.
