Win7 - dead mouse/sleep mode - ADDED Question

Hi all ...
I have installed a 7600 build of Win 7, thirty days to try it out.

The mouse goes dead when it comes out of sleep mode. The chipset is nForce 430; Biostar 6100 board.

I have not found a chipset that is designated for Win7 for this older AMD 754 board. I understand from searching that might fix my problem.

Any insight into this would be most helpful. Thanks so much.

PS ...
I saw that a number of folk had viewed this with no reply (and thanks for looking) 🙂, so my next question would be ...
Is it time for a new mainboard that actually supports Win 7 properly?
Thanks

I doubt that this will be helpful, but there is often a motherboard setting related to sleep and USB. It's usually a jumper on the motherboard called something like "+5vUSB" or something like that. It keeps the usb powered during sleep, so that USB devices can be used to pull the computer out of sleep. See if you have that jumper. You could also look in the bios for any settings related to usb power during sleep.

Again, I have no idea if this will help, but it's worth a look.

The Power control panel should have some options regarding suspending USB devices. Whatever options are listed, you may want to disable them.
