Win7 - booting delay & unresponsive KB/mouse

I am running Win 7 Pro on Asus P5Q Pro. I am experiencing following issues with this system. I would appreciiate if you help me fix these. Thanks.

1. When I boot, it moves fast, but then get stuck after Win 7 logo. Screen goes blank for 15 - 90 seconds before login screen appears.
2. I can wake up the system from S3 slepp by pressing keyboard or mouse. Login screen appears immediately. But then keyboard as well mouse remain unresponsive for 15-30 seconds.

1. A blank screen between the logo and the Welcome screen of 15-90 seconds is not unusual. This is when everything is loading, and it depends on what besides the operating system is loading. Go to MSCONFIG and look at the items under the Startup tab. Unselecting items under this heading that really don't need to be runing resident will reduce the load time considerably.

2. Sleep Mode it STILL not a settled process, and performance varies from system to system. This, plus the danger of losing open documents during a power failure on a sleeping computer is why I always recommend Hibernate Mode for someone who needs a faster boot time.

Hybrid sleep prevents data loss while retaining the speed of standby.
