Win7+add drive(s) problems.

Hi.I've recently been trying to get some cooperation out of win7 and 2 storage drives. My primary drive is ssd.I loaded fresh windows 7 home on it and all went ok,but..Win7 is hanging on boot to try and add my other drives which also have data on them. In the past,i have never had issue when the chipset and hardware remaining the same on any given added drive. On a previous installation(of win7),i had the other drives already on during the install and it went good.On this install, for other reasons,i chose to add them afterwards. I am in ahci as well. The other 2 drives are older wd sata drives that have never presented a problem on XP or the previous install of 7(also ahci). The "repair" function in win7 just seems to thrash my os drive and do nothing. It does'nt give clue what it's trying to do.I can't boot with the exact same setup and drivers from a few days ago with win7.I could format and re-add them if i had to,but i am trying to avoid that and its no guarantee either i suppose.

I'm not sure I can provide a ton of help, but let's start with the basics.

Have you confirmed that you're still booting off of the SSD when you add the additional drives, and that your mobo isn't accidentally trying to boot off of the HDDs?

Have you been able to boot up in safe mode? Have you tried using logging mode to see what driver/service is the last thing to load?

Have you tried installing 1 HDD at a time, in case it's only 1 drive that's causing issues?

Thanks for answering Virge.Funily enough,i tried again today and Wala, adding drives are working perfectly as it should. In regards to booting off of the ssd, that was the initial problem yesterday but could change it proper in bios and it still would'nt work.Perhaps the cycling of the os corrected matters.I don't know.🙂
