Hi There,

I have a Windows 2000 Advanced Server machine with a TNT2 video card installed. It did not recognize the video card, so I installed the detonator win2k drivers (I think they where ver 23.11 or something). Now it does recognize the video card, but still only gives me 640x480 and 800x600 both at 16 colors :(

I think the problem it the monitor (15" with no brand), that is just installed as a VGA with just those 2 video modes at both 16 colors ... but I cannot change it ... how can I set the system so I can have more that 16 colors? How can I change the monitor modes?

Thanks
ZM

Can't you un-check the "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" box?
You may also be able to force another monitor driver to be used by updating the monitor driver and choosing another monitor type from the list...

I don't have that check option at all ... and normally I would install a default 1024x778 Standard Monitor that would enable me to bypass the problem, but I cannot find a way of doing it in Win2k ... the only thing I find is a Defult Monitor with no properties button enabled and changind the adapter type from VGA just brought me to a new format/reinstallation of the OS ... :(
