I'm not on a network, so there's no security issue. It's a real nuisance to always have to do the Ctrl-Alt-Del thing to login to Win2K. Is there a (safe) hack?
Yes there is a way to get rid of it and it is not even a hack. Go into control panel - users and passwords - advanced tab - at the bottom you will see the "Secure boot setting" - untick it: Voila!
In case you don't want to login, you can turn that off to. I had that on for some time, but I've come to trust my roommates to not do anything stupid to my computer, so now I have that option off.
Glad to hear that others will also benefit from cirrus1's and ucdnam's tips. As I see it, Win2K's ctrl-alt-del login serves no purpose and is an annoyance for those of us individual Win2K users. Now, I think I'll start another thread to find out how to "streamline" Win2K for non-network use...😉
