win2k3 server logon problem

Having a problem logging on to a win2k3 machine. It comes up to the logon screen, then when I type in my info, it takes me to a screen that says "computer shutdown unexpectedly" and to choose a reason why that happened. Once I do that it says its logging off and brings me back to the login screen. When I enter my info, it logs me in and immediately goes to the logging off message. It does not take me to the desktop at all.
 

had this happen on my wife's box after copying her installation to a new drive. it went away why i recreated the D partition, so apparently something was on D that it needed. don't ask me what, heh.

i've also seen NT do it when the page file was missing altogether
