Win2k3 RAID setup not working :(

Hi.

I currently have a brand new K8N Neo2 with an Athlon 64 3200+.
I need to install Win2k3 Server on this computer, but am having issues doing so.

I have 2x 200g WD SATA drives and need to set them up in a RAID 1 configuration.

The problem is, when I try to install W2k3, i get to the first reboot stage, when it tries to load off the hard disk, then perform the 45 minute install, and when it tries to read from the Hard disk, it either gives me a verifying DMI pool, and hangs there forever, or says that the partition is invalid, depending on which CD I use.

I have tried everything, using different 2k3 CD's, installing different RAID drivers at windows install, including all the ones that came on the CD.

Interesting to note, when i tried to install W2k server, it partitioned the array into a 130g and a 50g.

And yes I have set the RAID up in BIOS, and when it boots, it says it is healthy.

Thanks in advance to anyone who could shed some light on this situation.

Are those the only two hard drives in the pc? If there are any others, try unplugging their power connection while your loading the O/S onto the raid array.

try updating bios, see if there is an upgrade to enable 48bitLBA for your hdd's. Now, is there a way to install win onto a single drive, then, add another to create a RAID1?

This way - first thing you do, - install win, install sp's/patches, install chipset drivers. create RAID, do the rest of the h/w drivers, and s/w.
