Good Day,

I know it's not a simple answer, but I would like to know some of your opinions about whether to choose FAT32 or NTFS. What is the best choice in terms of performance, stability, best storage use ...

Thanks

If you're using 2 OS'es like Windows XP and Windows ME than you'll want to use FAT32 as Winsdows 9x/ME can't read the NTFS file system. Also, NTFS uses 4 KB as opposed to FAT32's 32 KB cluster size and has security features such as locking a folder so only you can see its contents.

Use NTFS if at all possible. Without it, you'll lose most of Win2K's and WinXP's cool file and security features.

NTFS is also a must if you work with large files (DV, etc.). It can support files larger than 2 GB. FAT32 cannot utilize file sizes that large.

NTFS is also a more robust file system and less prone to errors than FAT32.

The only reason I would have a FAT32 partition would be to dual boot to Win9x.
