is UDMA66 on in my system after the registry edit? is there a way i can chceck or any program that will tell me? thanks

You should run HD TACH before you do the tweak and see what your burst rate is... that is max rate to your controller. Then run it after the tweak and compare the two numbers.

If you have a VIA chipset mobo, ATA66 should be enabled by Microsoft's default Win2K drivers. Only Intel chipsets need the registry tweak.
