Win2K to Win2K file sharing problem

I've got 2 Windows 2000 machines, and I want to set up file sharing for Machine1.

Machine1 has the 'Guest' account enabled for the folder I want to share.

Machine2 can see Machine1 but when I'm on Machine2 and click on the Machine1 icon, it asks me for a username/password. If I enter 'Guest' it works, but I want it to share without asking.

Any advice?

Thanks.

this might work, but not sure if it is the solution you are looking for. Lets say computer 2 is logged on with username C2 and password P2 then you would have to make an account on computer 1 for user C2 and set the password to P2. Now share that folder to user C2 and it should not ask for the password when you access the folder.

Going by your "nameology" above, when you turn on machine 2 when you log on type in guest. If you only have one account on that machine and have it set to log on automaticly you will have to turn off that feature. Although I don't remember how to do this.

Personally I would add the same user and password to the machine1 that you currently use on machine2. Then setup the share with that instead of guest.
