Win2k taking whole disk

I have a 10 gb hard drive with 4+ gigs free all in one big partition. However, there is a system file or two about 500 megs from the end of the disk that keeps me from shrinking the partition.

Win2k's built in defragment won't move it, and neither will diskeeper 7, even when run before windows boots. Does anyone hav any ideas on who to move that file so I can repartition. Neither program will tell me what it is, otherwise I might be able to delete it or something...

500mb system file? my guess is the pagefile

pagefile.sys? i forget what its called..

maybe you could temporarily shut off your swap and see what happens 😛

The boot time degragment option in diskeeper moved most, but not all of the files at the end of the disk. The file(s) there are small but sure are annoying. I know its not the swap because it shows up elsewhere on the disk.

I much prefer a free option (and in my mind, pirating partition magic isn't free)
