hi..
i just installed win2k on my computer and unlike win98 where you can type msconfig at the run prompt, and then get rid of unwanted startup applications by unchecking them, win2k doesn't have that feature. So i did go into the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Run
and got rid of unwanted applications. however, i had installed yahoo messenger and that one was not listed there so it keeps loading on my taskbar (right hand corner) and i want to get rid of that. Also, i have hercules kyroII video card, and the logo starts automatically and it takes a while to come up. What i mean is i get on win2k, then it goes on the desktop. all the icons (my computer, recycling bin) appear, but i'm unable to open any application until the hercules logo appears; the problem is that about 2.5 min go by before i'm able to open any applications on win2k. I also have win98se installed, and that does not happen when i boot up using this OS.
Any suggestions????
thanks,
lafiera
