Hello I have a problem with my swap, I have been running my pc for a few week since reboot and everything was fine, but thing morning a boot I says that my system has a swap file problem and that I have no swap so windows created a 20mb swap file. But in my properties I have 200mb for my swap file size.

I juste have no idea where the problem come from.

Anybody has a an idea

Try this assuming that you are using NTFS.

You have to log on as Administrator to perform the following.

1. Right click on the drive in My Computer that contains the swap file and choose Properties -> Security.

2. Add System to the list and give it full control, click Apply + OK.

3. Go change your Paging File Size to whatever you want.

4. Reboot and it should be working.

I have only notice this problem after converting from FAT32 to NTFS. Windows doesn't add the System Account automatically. Both Administrator and System must have Full Control for the paging file to be used and accessed.

If you run with FAT32, I have no idea. I guess you checked for disk space?;)

just as a side note i found that system properties and programs such as sisoft sandra misreport the size of you pagefile. You have to locate the file itself and check it's size to determine if your changes took effect.
