I'm trying to setup a software based RAID using Win2k's Spanned Volumes. The problem is that I can't get any of my dynamic disks to extend. I used to have them setup as Basic disks so I completely deleted them, fdisk'ed them and formatted them. But when I go back into Win2k, it still won't treat them as newly installed Dynamic Disks. Is there anything I can do?

To get dynamic, you MUST partition them within Win2K (Computer Management). Partitioning OUTSIDE of Win2K is the ONLY way I know of to get basic volumes (versus dynamic).
