Don't know if this has been posted elsewhere on this forum, but I thought I would throw it out there, just in case it hasn't already been covered... Neowin is reporting that Win2k SP4 has been released today. I'm downloading the SP now. Here's the link to Neowin's article, for anyone interested:

cool, the link they provide is from microsoft but I cannot find any links from microsofts home page to the service pack. Is this stanard operating procedure by microsoft to have a few people download it to report the bugs?

Very cool!!! Over 60 security fixes.

Looks like a buttload of fixes, including the HT/Dual procs + AGP = system hang at startup, crap.

Just installed it on a machine ive been meaning to format (my ftp server)

So far so good, checked all my proggies and looked at CPU usage, disk access, performance in a few games, and of course the services list

Install had 2 errors on install saying it cant identify my version of Win2k, but its a student Eval Version of 2kPro (yes its legit)

K i finished checking all the proggies, looked through the registry, and ran every program and game i have with no crashes. This may deserve a sticky

Anyone have a guide on how to burn a win2k cd with the service packs built in?

This is for XP, but the same process applies.

As far as I can tell, this is the final release. When I look at the version in system information, this is what is installed:

"5.0.2195 Service Pack 4 Build 2195"
