abit nf7-s board, gigabyte radeon 7000 64mb, ddr333, svc rounded cables. windows 2000 boots to the point to just before the login box appears and then the system looses all power. same thing happens when i try to boot in safe mode. day before, everything was fine, was watching dvds. installed linux on a 2nd hard drive, but disconnected the win2k drive before i did it to not F anything up. now have this problem.

well, i did a 'load failsafe settings' in the bios and windows came up and i played my dvd. rebooted, did a 'load optimized settings' and it still rebooted find and loaded windows2k. only difference i notice is the sata raid is enabled in the bios now. thought it was this refurb newegg radeon 7000 so i went back to my old voodoo3 and still had the same powerloss issue. btw, my powersupply is 350watt antec that came with my antec case. maybe tomorrow it will decide not to boot again.

Try reseating the video card. I had a similar problem and it turned out that the video card had become loose
