I have just done a fresh install of win2K Pro (with service pack 2) on my Epox 8K7A+/T-Bird 1400 and am getting a blue screen flash up[ for around half a second when I shut down/restart, the error is something like PAGE_NOT_VALID and points to EB30000 I believe, also says the error is due to SERIAL.SYS, the machine still shuts down fine but if i look in the event log it tells me it has saved a dump, these are details of 1 of them:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: Save Dump
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1001
Date: 23/08/2001
Time: 01:35:37
User: N/A
Computer: edited
Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000050 (0xeb492bc4, 0x00000000, 0xeb492bc4, 0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini082301-05.dmp.

I have tried opening the minixxxxxx, dmp files (i have several, a new 1 every reboot) but they are not readable either with notepad or wordpad.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thank You

Andy

No Help here on what to fix, but the Memory dumps are going to be Hex anyway. Just FYI
