I'm getting this error.
-----------------------------------

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7000
Date: 2/8/2002
Time: 10:29:32 PM
User: N/A
Computer: FROGGIE2
Description:
The ASPI32 service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
------------------------------------

I don't know what's causing the problem... Win2k is too intelligent to let me know WHAT file cannot be found.

I've searched the MSFT site... and I can't find anything about this problem.

Any one know how to resolve this problem?

The aspi service is failing, look in the registry for aspi32 under hkey_local_machine\system\current control set\services\aspi32 The imagepath there should point to the missng file.

Hmmm... I couldn't find the "services" tab using regedit... it was found using regedt32... why's that?

As for the image path... well there is no image path... this is what's in there:

errorcontrol
start
type

there's also an enum tab

any clue what I should do now?

Sounds like it was partially uninstalled but the services key wasn't removed. You can delete that key, or if you need the aspi services, reinstall aspi.
