Win2k Server\WinXP Pro & DNS problem.

Our company just upgraded from NT 4.0 server to Win2k Server. We have 2 computers running Win2k Pro, 1 NT 4.0 workstation and 2 XP Pro machines. The Win2k Pro and Winnt 4.0 machines has no problem joining the domain and accessing the internet. But the 2 Win XP pro machines can't join the Domain without specifying a Static DNS which is Ip of the Win2K server but once DNS is specificed neither XP Pro machines could get online thru a netgear 311 Router therefore I am leaving both XP Pro machines with obtain Ip Address automatically. I rather have internet access then join the Domain for now. Any suggestion? I hope what i wrote make sense.

Your XP machines should point to the 2K Server for DNS, the 2K Server should provide DNS for internal PC's and forward to your ISP's DNS servers for outside requests.

It should work that way, I wonder why not???

How come the same settings works for NT 4.0 and Win2k Machines, but not XP Pro? Out of curiosity, What is so different about XP pro. BTW tThe DHCP is done but the router.
