Win2K Server Upgrade from Evaluation Edition

Guys, help me out here. Save me and my company $245 if you can.

Situation is that I built a new proxy server for one of my floors here with an Evaluation copy of Win2K Server - built it off site; the actual 2K Server license resides on-site. Brought the server in, hooked it up, configured it, and now all the peasants in the land are happy that they have internet usage again. But the Eval copy only lasts 3 hours at a time - you can imagine where I'm going with this. Eval copies can't immediately be upgraded to full copies. I have no idea why.

Found this page on MS Technet:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/professional/evaluation/news/bulletins/eval.asp

And as fate would have it, the version we have is Compliance Checking. Now, there is no way in hell I'm going to tear this box down and rebuild it, and I'm not exactly jumping at the chance to call MS Tech Support and pay out $245 for something as mundane as this. I will, of course, if I absolutely have to.

Can anyone help out? Any experience with this? Anything you can give me is much appreciated. I'm bordering on desperate.

I think you have a good shot at Microsoft not charging the $245. I know you have to give them a credit card # to get through the first level, but if your call is pertaining to a known problem, they tech waives the charge.

They probably will ask you if you are entitled to be using an 'upgrade' version of the OS since you built a new machine.
