Win2k- SCSI Hard Drive installation

I am trying to install a SCSI drive for storage purposes-
whenever i hook it up to the SCSI card it will assign itself to C: and try to boot off of it. How do I make i just a storage drive?

The boot sequence IS set up as A:, C:, SCSI
The C: is described as (System) and my D: used for mp3 storage is listed as (Active) in the disk management.

The SCSI ID is not conflicting and it is not at the termination end of the chain...

any ideas? thanks for your help in advance.
