Win2K: Restore Internet Connection

I drove 135 miles roundtrip to a customer's home today to resolve a problem she was having. I also had another service call which took a couple of hours longer than it should have.

Anyway, I finally get home. I'm tired. I'm hungry.

I check my e-mail and find this message from the customer I saw early this morning:

<< Dan

Before today, whenever I clicked on the Explorer I-con my dial up connection popped up, now I have to go to start, settings, dial-up connections, and then press connect. How do I re-set it back to the original way you had it?

Right now I'm braindead ... and the wife wants me to go to the tile store and help select new flooring for the kitchen. 😛

I'll be damned if I'm driving down there again, so help me out guys. What's a nice simple way for Deborah to restore her Internet Connection? Run the Internet Connection Wizard? Boot up "Last Known Good Configuration?" (Her OS is Win2K.)

Thanks for your input. I'm going to grab a quick nap.

You could always just call her and walk her through it on the phone.

Right click on Internet Explorer, go to properties. Click on connections tab and then "Always Dial my default connection."

Click apply and then ok and shes good to go. Should take five minutes to take care of this. Hope this helps.

minendo: Thanks! That's exactly what I was hoping for. Short, simple and taken care of with an e-mail. And all before I even had a chance to take a nap. 🙂

Now I'll rest peacefully. 😀
