I installed win2k and noticed that it seems to use far less memory than win98. When it first starts, memory usage is only at 58MB or so. Win98SE, on the other hand, only reports ~130MB of free memory of my 256MB. I thought win2k was supposed to use more memory than win98? Also I get higher 3dmark2001 scores in win2k than in win98. (3300 vs 3100 on a gf2 gts) I thought win2k wasn't as good at gaming, and especially benchmarking? Did I just get lucky, or are there a lot of misconceptions about win2k out there?
