Win2K Question

Got a quick question. My laptop crapped out and I?m trying to run the lappy hard drive on my desktop with a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter. Win2k gets the load screen and then freezes. I assume it?s because of the hardware change.

How do I get it to redetect everything? Safe mode doesn?t work either.

I assume it?s because of the hardware change.

It will do the above if you try to boot with the lappy hdd. What install the lappy hdd as a second master drive or secondary then boot to Win2k Workstation partion to retrieve your files.

I was able to get a hold of a Win2k CD and got it installed. It's running but I think I did it wrong. I did like a new installation and chose recovery. Now at boot up, it gives a menu screen with the choice of the original o/s and the new installation. In any case, thanks for the tips guys.
