Win2k question. About "boot logs?"

Is there a way to log exactly what happen during bootup in w2k.

The reason i ask is that one of my PCs, a 700mhz model seems to hang halfway through the "loading" process, and sits there for at least 45 seconds, my other machine, which is pretty much slower in every regard, boots up in about half the time. Its there anyway to log and see if i can find out what is "slowing it down" on during boot-up?

You can Enable Boot Logging. As the system starts up at one point you may get two choices like load Windows 2000 Professional/load Windows 2000 Professional VGA mode only. If you get this, at the bottom of the page it says to press F8 for advanced startup options. Fress F8 and choose Enable Boot Logging. It will save the information to Ntbtlog.txt in the WINNT directory. If you don't get any kind of boot menu, the install the Recovery Console winnt32 /cmdcons and after reboot you will see a two option menu with the "Startup Options press F8" at the bottom of the screen, then proceed from there.
