Win2k Professional Unexpected Reboots

Ok, I am aware that this is a known problem in Win2k Professional but I have yet to find the solution to this prooblem. Here are my specs: Athlon 750MHz, ABit KA7, Micron 128MB PC133, Maxtor 30GB HD, SBLive!, and Diamond TNT2 Ultra. I read somewhere that it could be because of the drivers from ViaTech but that hasn't been confirmed. Is there a fix this? I'm really annoyed by the fact that my system reboots while I'm in the middle of doing something important.

Why don't you dual boot to Win98 so that whenever you're doing something really important, use Win98.

lol, I don't think I have ever heard anyone say that before 😛

hmm... yeah.. better boot into Win98 when doing important stuff... for stability sakes. ROFL!!!!! 😀

Never heard that before!!! 🙂

(ofcource, it could apply in your case since win2k is so unstable)

This is a shot in the dark, but you may want to check it.

Right click my computer and go properties, advanced, then the startup and recovery button. See if the box to automatically reboot under system failure is checked. If it is, you may be getting BSODs and not realizing it, since win2k will just reboot when something crashes.

This probably dont help you too much, since whether you see a blue screen or not, you're still screwed, but its worth checking out. That way, if it is a blue screen, you dont have to worry about scary things like bad power connections and so on.

I have been getting blue screens so often on my K7M. Anyone have any idea how to fix it? I have to reset very time. I don't even know what is wrong. and usually I only have netscape open.

Someone has to know the fix to this problem. I know this is a known problem because I remember people posting their problems on the message boards.

I hear that it has to do with AGP 4X and I also hear that it is Via-Tech's drivers. I don't want to resort to dual booting Win98 for something like this.
