Hello all,
I was hoping some people running on Win2K could help me. I have a Win2K machine at work, but won't be back there for a while. Here is the dillie-yo
I installed my acacdemic license of Win2K Pro on his ooolllddd HP laptop to free up some of its meager resources from the XP devil (and to get a ::cough:: legit OS on there). The version of 2K that my school provided was ripped from an MSDN DVD apparently and I couldn't get it to boot off the CD for the life of me since the laptop is so old. Thus, I had to DL an image of Win2K w/NO service packs, install from there w/my SN, & update to SP4. All went well from there on. Now onto the questions:
(1) My Dad says he can't find Paint on his computer, and he SHOULD be able to find that at least. Is Paint an add/removeable program? I didn't tell 2K not to install it, but who knows. If it isn't that, any suggestions?
(2) He also cannot adjust the volume on his speakers. The volume icon isn't in the system tray and when he goes to Control Panel>Sound, he gets some type of error which tells him to go to Control Panel>Add/Remove. This to me sounds like for SOME damn reason some part of sound control wasn't installed????? Any ideas?
If both of these are related to Add/Removing Windows components, could somebody give me a detailed description of how to get to that area under Win2K?
Thanks in advance
