Win2K problem

I had Win98se and upgraded to Win2K....everythign was fine...after installation the boot loader used to come up and all was going good.

But yesterday my friend ran a virus scan and the scanner came back saying that the boot sector/file was cahnged from the last time and therefore recommended a repair....so this guys goes and does the repair...and now the boot loader dosent come up.

I can see the boot config file but dont know which file it is that looks for the boot config file.

Can anyone let me knwo how to fix this problem...what are the files that get loaded before Win98se or Win2k loads up ...any leads welcome...thanks...

Yep - When the virus scanner detected the new one that Win2K added, it replaced the old vanilla Win98 version...just doing it's job I guess..
