Win2K Problem....

I recently experienced this. When first turning on the computer, sometimes it would hang at the "Windows is starting up" dialogue box. It doesnt freeze, it just hangs there. And this happens all the time, when I try to restart or shut down the computer, it would exit out of windows like normal but after that when its suppose to turn the computer off, the screen just turns black and computer is still on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Post your error messages from event viewer/ sytem logs
That might give you a hint where the device conflict or error is coming from.

Also, if you have Norton's Works (2001), run the Window Doctor.
It finds things that aren't conncected or should be, such as files, dll's from old deleted applications, etc in you registry.

If you can trace to when the problem started, and what you did at that time, may give you a clue also.

Too bad GOBACK doesn't work in W2k (or at least not on my machine).
