Win2K problem with Internet Explore (IE)

Hi,

I am using WIn2K, recently upgraded my IE 5.0 to 5.5
The problem is: a lot of time my IE crashed suddenly, with message saying Can not access memory referenced ....
I suspect this is because some website is trying to open a small window or something (I am not too sure)... I upgrade to IE 5.5 hoping this will solve the problem, but to no avail.
I have Norton AV 2001 and a Firewall, plus mbm 5, adaptec cd creator.... all running on background.
Maybe I configure something wrong? Please help.
Thanks

Is your Firewall Symantec or Atguard? I had problems with both of these screwing up my network connection.

my firewall is blackice defender, from many reviews I read, they seemed to be numero uno firewall software... right? And from their website description, they're 100% compatible /w win2k
