If anyone has any insight on this problem, I would greatly appreciate it :). The problem I have in Win2k is that whenever I right click on an icon, say my HD, or a file icon for that matter, I hear my floppy drive being accessed before I get that drop down menu. Has anyone had a similar problem before and if so, is there a solution? I tried reinstalling win2k (not a clean install) and that didn't solve the problem. Maybe a clean install is needed but I'm looking for a way so that I won't have to reinstall many of the apps that I use.

Thanks in advance ;)

If you have a virus scanner be sure the all autoscans for floppies are disabled. That dany scan floppy on shutdown sucks. You will have to dig in your scanner settings to find them.

Don't know if it will help but it's the only thing I can think of that does screwy stuff with floppy drives.

If that don't help, try checking your path, or enviroment, perphaps this is pointing to your floppy drive?

Actually I haven't installed a new Antivirus program since the installers that I previously had were for Win9x. So that rules out the antivirus solution. Daemon_UK...could you go into a little more depth about how to check the path or environment in Win2k?
