I did a fresh install of Win2K and I love it.
Only proplem is that I installed Stndard PC to get around the problem of possible problems with hardware. When I shut down the pc, it does whaqt win98 does on AT machines:
I states"IT IS NOW SAVE TO TURN OFF YOUR PC". Then i have to "pull the plug" and get to the ATX.Power switch, since ATX systems don´t have an "off" button. Any ideas? Is it really necessary to have ACPI to support this feature? I didn´t even have APM in w98 and it worked....

Go to control panel-Power Options. You should see a "APM" tab click on it and enable "APM" it then should shut down fine.

One of my buddies had the same problem. I gave him the same advice bigguy gave u. The problem is that in the power management options, no APM tab could be find!!! After reflashing his bios, everything worked fine :Q

Shouldn't your computer still have a power button that you can use to turn it off (you may have to hold it for five seconds)?
