My friend is has successfully installed his USB DSL modem but has one slight problem. If he isn't using the computer, win2k shuts off the power to the usb ports. Or at least the USB modem gets turned off. In power management he has Always On and never has his disk spin down.
On his Win98 machine it doesn't exhibit the same problem. It just happens with his Win2k box. He is using the latest drivers from Alcatel. Anyone have an idea how to keep the USB ports from powering down when the computer is not being used?
His win2k machine is just acting as a server for his network and he doesn't care to actually use the machine for normal activities.
