Win2k Pro, system tray in 256 colors

I've noticed that my Windows 2000 Pro system tray is not in full color mode as the rest of the interface (taskbars, quick launch, etc., are all in obvious higher color modes). Is this just the way it is, or a setting that I can adjust?

That's just the way it is. I'm sure that full color systray icons could be hacked in (I'm taking about hex editing, not registry editing) but I've never bothered to look into it.

I did it after installing SP3 and it doesn't work

Did you use the SP3 explorer.exe? Also.. a question.. is SP3 still in beta?

This must be the coolest fix in the world!

Nevermind, it works, I was just used to the AIM icon in the taskbar being different in XP. The Winamp icon is now in 256 color glory.
