Every once in a while under win2000 pro, my whining hard drive will just shut off and the computer will reboot... sometimes under high usage, and sometimes for no reason.
I recently upgraded to 2000 from 98, and I have never had this problem before
I have a western digital 20 GB 7200 rpm, windows is installed on a 13 GB partition with ntfs.
my system is a duron 700 with 96 MB of ram, I currently have 256 more on the way.
I think it might have to do with memory, since it takes about 5 minutes to completely boot up and my drive is always struggling to open programs.
please help me, as i know this isnt good for the hard drive.
