win2k pro crash w/ screen saver

Every once in a while my win2k pro box would crash while the screen saver is launched. Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't have any effect and the keyboard is locked - pressing NumLock, Caps, or Scroll has no effect either.
Anyone has any idea what may be causing this??

You might want to try turning down the hardware acceleration options.
Start with 1 notch down and see if it helps. If not then 2.

Also, be sure to update DirectX to v8.1b if you already haven't as it clears
up various video card/driver issues.
