Hey,

Topic basically says it all. I'm a Photoshop user and I need to add some extra fonts. When I goto Control Panel: Fonts: And then goto file: it gives me the standard options NEW then CreatShortcut, Delete, Rename and Properties (everything except New is greyed out). There is no option to Install New Font(s). Any ideas? I looked through the Font Section in the .HLP file but nothing there. I tried just copying the fonts to the Font Folder in my WINNT folder but didnt work.

Please help!

Thanks in adv.

When you dragged the fonts into the fonts folder, did you drag the surrounding folder with it or just the individual fonts? I've been adding fonts recently and all I do is drag the .ttf files into the fonts folder and it'll work. I make sure nothing else is running though. I don't know if Win2k supports postscript fonts so if you're using those, I don't know..TT works fine with me in PS unless you're sending files out to print services...

As was said, if you copy fonts to the Fonts folder they are automatically installed (in the registry) by w2k. I read that it is also possible to keep the font files elsewhere and simply copy shortcuts to them into the Fonts directory - certainly would be convenient, because then it would be easy to distinguish your added fonts from the standard w2k fonts - I tried this, and for some reason it didn't work. Postscript fonts are supported.
