Win2K Pro: Can i resize partitions without 3rd party software?

Does Win2K have such a feature included or should I use Partition Magic, assuming it supports NTFS. I will not resort to deleting the partitions and recreating them. Thanks.

Definitely go for Partition Magic. Unless there's some free tool I've never heard of like maybe a special Linux boot floppy, it's really well worth the $ to pick up Partition Magic. AFAIK, there's no Microsoft utility that will do the conversion for you, and Win2K only works in one direction (FAT and FAT32 to NTFS).

If you are on a budget. You can convert the disks to dynamic disk and you can resize partitions without deleting them. However, the draw back of W2k's dynamic disks is that you can't resize partitions that are "converted" to dynamic. Only those that are created from fresh. Also boot and system partions can't be resized. Pretty limited I guess. But at least it's free. Bear in mind also that only W2k support dynamic disks.

Thanks. Ill pick the latest Partition Magic software and go from there. I didn't think my MP3 collection would go over the size of that partition.:Q

just use disk manager in 2000. the only partition you cant change is the primary, the one with 2k installed on it.
